Spiralmate Flanges

The standard method used to join lengths of spiral tube is with male couplers. However, principally with larger diameters, these Spiralmate flanges are sometimes used to aid in installation and/or to provide a means by which duct lengths may be relatively easily removed for maintenance and cleaning purposes. Each Spiralmate unit consists of two flange rings, which are fixed with screws or rivets into the tube ends that are to be joined, and a joining clip. Once in position, the joining clip is installed over both flanges.

In our experience the advantages lay more in the ability to remove and replace the duct easily rather than making the installation easier. Larger ducts installed at high level will certainly benefit from the use of Spiralmate flanges, but unless there is a requirement that the duct be periodically removed, we suggest sticking with male couplers.
